Dental fillings

Dental fillings

Dental fillings are one of the most common dental procedures used to address minor chips and dental decay, and at Rolling Hills Family Dentistry, we offer a range of materials tailored to your needs. Whether it's composite resin, amalgam, resin-modified glass ionomer, or glass ionomer, each material has its own advantages and limitations. Dr. Chan and his team will provide their expert opinion on which material is right for you. If you suspect you may have a cavity, it is important to get it examined as soon as possible to prevent further decay. Untreated decay may require more invasive procedures such as a root canal or extraction. Remember, no pain does not mean everything is okay! Trust Dr. Chan for the best care and advice.

Crowns

Crowns

Crowns are generally recommended when the tooth is fractured, the extent of decay covers a large surface area of the tooth, or after a root canal treatment is done.  They are essentially tooth-shaped caps that change the overall physics of the way biting forces are distributed.

Here at Dr. Chan Dentistry, we offer a wide array of materials including gold, zirconia, ceramic, porcelain, or a combination of porcelain and metal.  Like dental filling materials, each has their own advantages and limitations.  Your dentist will begin the treatment by shaping the tooth to ideally accommodate your new crown.  An impression is taken for the lab to custom craft your restoration to perfection.  We work closely with an extremely skilled technician.

Bridges

Bridges

Bridges are fixed prosthetics that replace one or more missing teeth.  They are the only other “permanent” alternative to an implant.  Bridges are supported by your natural teeth, essentially multiple crowns connecting to each other, restoring your ability to chew, talk, and minimizing food impaction.

Full and Partial Dentures

Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures are removable prostheses that can replace missing teeth.  Partial dentures are great for patients that are missing only a few natural teeth and may not have adequate support for a bridge.  However, when patients are missing an entire row of teeth, full dentures may be considered.  Dentures are made of acrylic and kept in place by suction, metal clips, or denture adhesive.  Dentures are affordable solutions for restoring gaps, missing teeth, and smiles.
